Getting started! I purchased a new camera the day before we left so here I am figuring out my new equipment and saving memories. I start out where every soldier starts out, at home. Not every picture may be labeled and no names are mentioned. The pictures describe sites and experiences of a 28th Combat Support Hospital soldier saying good-bye to family and friends and doing his duty. Every soldier I deployed with did this same thing, we all have this in common regardless of our specific job or education. It was great having the family come out and say good-bye. It has been amazing to watch them grow through pictures and to know when I return there will be an additional one, our son, Branden. Enjoy!
On our journey we have called many places home, living in a warehouse, tent, vehicles or just our cots under the stars. We get board and frustrated at times but in the end we come together and figure innovative ways to deal with the situation, such as building a hand washing station. Other conditions require us to take measures that most of us would rather not have to go through, but as stated before we work as team and accomplish our mission.
